Chevrolet should totally make a coupe version of the SS above, call it a Chevelle, and peg it in the same tier as the BMW M6.

Are they canning the SS after 2017?

I think they should have called it a Chevelle from the very beginning. That would have probably tripled their abysmal sales.

That would of been amazing, too bad it’s gonna be dying soon.

Uh, they did.

No.

Agree because a Chevelle would have outward vision.

They did a concept a few years ago.

If they are going to make a coupe that no one is going to buy, it needs to be called Monte Carlo. They can make a mountain dew/Dale Jr. Special edition with a spoiler and body kit.

Funny thing, they kind of were before 2008 happened. It was just a GTO though.

Nobody is sure yet.

No, they shouldn’t call it the Chevelle. It should have been called the Impala SS. So they could use the hype from the 90's Impala SS. This car was brought over here just as part of a trade agreement with Australia.

With the same proportions as an S-Class coupe? Yes please

I’d be into that!

Then they could do a 4 door version of the 2 door version of the 4 door version. Then add convertible option to all 3 and there you have 6 new cars for the line up.....

“Same tier as the M6"
Maybe at the ZL1 trim in terms of performance, but in all other respects the M6 is an entirely different machine.

Agree on everything but the name. I know the history is there with the Chevelle moniker, but the people buying these would need something newer and more exciting, I think. If they’re trying to compete with an M6 or S63, “Chevelle” doesn’t really sound like the luxurious/track-capable monster to take a share of that market.
I know I’m nitpicking—I love the idea! Don’t see enough of the SS as it is.

I choose to ignore that part becasue why would Chevy do that anyways? That’s what Cadillac is for.

Its design language would need to be a bit more Camaro, though.

Uh, they did.
But not enough people bought it. So they sent it to America where nobody bought it. So they killed it.
Whether they did it or not, it definitely wouldn’t be an M6 competitor on any level. It’s a big dumb V8 brute.
